Greyhounds ink three

The Ohio Valley Greyhounds are pleased to announce the signing of three players to their 2006 roster.

Offensive lineman Steven Posey (6-2,290) joins the Greyhounds after wrapping up a stellar career at Elizabeth City State University in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Posey was a starter at center for the Vikings and earned All Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association Honors anchoring an offensive line that averaged 126 yards per game on the ground and allowed just 23 sacks.

Posey a native of Bryan's Road, Maryland played in this past season's East Coast Bowl, a Division-II All-Star game where he played against current Greyhounds teammates Derrick Stickles and Robert Henning.

Offensive lineman Mike Sacco (6-8,330) has signed with the Greyhounds after becoming a regular on the offensive front at the University of Toledo. Sacco was a two-year starter on head coach Tom Amstutz's squad at right tackle. Sacco is a native of Sewickley, PA and was a standout at Quaker Valley High School. The former teammate of current Ohio Valley linebacker Brock Dodrill spent the early part of the 2006 campaign with the Ft. Wayne Freedom.

Wide Receiver/Defensive back Cedric Pratt has also joined the team this week. Pratt was a teammate of Posey's at Elizabeth City State finishing up in 2004. Pratt will be called upon to play both wide receiver and defensive back for the Hounds.

Ohio Valley (2-4) returns to action Saturday night at Sioux City, Iowa where they will take on the Bandits (3-4). Kickoff is set for 8:30 eastern time.
