Georgia Force News Release

ORLANDO, FL - QB Chris Greisen broke the AFL's single-season touchdown record with his eight touchdown performance (111) in Georgia's 55-44 win in Orlando. Greisen completed 27 of 37 passes for 323 yards with eight touchdowns to earn head coach Doug Plank his first win in Orlando as a head coach. Greisen's 111 touchdowns on the season surpassed the previous mark of 105 set in 2006 by Dallas QB Clint Dolezel.

At the end of the first quarter, the Georgia Force held a 13-7 lead over the Orlando Predators. Georgia opened the game with a 5:03 scoring drive that was capped off by a one-yard touchdown pass from Greisen to WR Carl Morris. On the Predators first offensive play, DL Jermaine Smith sacked Orlando QB Shane Stafford for a seven-yard loss. On the next play, Stafford was intercepted by DB Reggie Doster for the first turnover of the game. The interception marked the second consecutive game Doster picked off an opposing quarterback and the third time in four games. Georgia capitalized when Greisen threw a laser to WR Troy Bergeron from 21 yards out in the back of the endzone to take a 13-0 lead. The Predators first points of the game came on a two-yard run by FB/LB Marlon Moye-Moore. Orlando DB Lin-J Shell recovered the ensuing kickoff to give the Predators a first and goal from the two-yard line as the quarter came to an end.

Greisen made AFL history in the second quarter and led the Force to a 34-31 halftime lead over Orlando. The Predators converted the net-recovery into a touchdown with a two-yard run by Moore. Georgia faced a third down and 10 from their own five-yard line when Greisen connected with WR Chris Jackson on a 45-yard touchdown pass. The touchdown pass by Greisen gave him 106 on the year and surpassed the previous AFL single-season record of 105 set by Dallas QB Clint Dolezel in 2006. The two teams would trade scores for the remainder of the quarter with Orlando K Jay Taylor knocking a 42-yard field goal through the uprights to end the half. Greisen had completed 19 of 25 passes for 191 yards and five touchdowns through the first two quarters.

The Georgia defense pitched a shut-out in the third quarter and because of that led Orlando 41-31 with 15 minutes to play. The second half began with DL Ernest Allen sacking Stafford, marking his 4.5 of the season. Orlando had to settle for a field goal attempt on the drive, which was missed wide-left by Taylor. Georgia faced a fourth situation when Greisen threw deep down the middle of the field and Jackson hauled in the 24-yard pass for a touchdown.

Georgia and Orlando battled back and forth in the final quarter, but the Force outscored the Predators 14-13 in the fourth and secured a 55-44 win. Greisen added two touchdowns in the quarter to bring his total to eight for the game and 111 on the year.
