MILWAUKEE, WI (January 16, 2007) - The Major Indoor Soccer League announced that Milwaukee Wave forward Greg Howes has been named the league's Offensive Player of the Week for the seven-day period ending Sunday, January 14th. This is Howes's second Offensive Player of the Week honor in the 2006-07 season.

With Howes' award, Milwaukee Wave players have generated seven MISL Player of the Week honors in the 11 weeks of regular play of the 2006-07 season. Howes received his first honor in first week of December for his 20-point weekend. During the home-and-home series this past weekend with the Detroit Ignition, Howes tallied eight points (three, 2-point goals and two assists). Howes has now moved into second place in the MISL's Puma Points Leaders with 45 points.

"We are happy for Greg and hope the honors continue," said Milwaukee Wave Head Coach Keith Tozer on Howes' honor.

Three-time reigning scoring champion and two-time MISL Most Valuable Player Greg Howes joined the Wave in the 2000-01 season. Now in his seventh season in the MISL all with the Wave, Howes has tallied over 575 points in 309 games.

The MISL also named the Goalkeeper and Offensive Players of the Week. The Detroit Ignition's Sanaldo was named Goalkeeper of the Week by winning both games against the Milwaukee Wave. The Philadelphia KiXX's Genoni Martinez was honored as Defensive Player of the Week by tallying eight points while securing their first place position in the league.

The Wave will face the Blast in Baltimore on Friday, January 12 at 6:35 p.m. CST. The Wave will then return home on Saturday, January 20 at 6:05pm CST to challenge the Storm since November.
