Greenwell belts out fifteen hits against the Jackals

QUEBEC 13, NEW JERSEY 1 @ Quebec City, Quebec. Time: 2:30 ATT: 3048 W: Marcos Castillo (6-2) L: Isaac Pavlik (3-4) S: None HR: QUE - Eddie Lantigua (21), Olivier Lepine (4) Quebec first baseman Bill Greenwell went 3-for-5 at the plate, leading the hit parade for the Capitales, who belted out fifteen hits against the Jackals. Marcos Castillo picked up his sixth win of the season for Quebec, going eight innings, allowing three hits and one run, while striking out eight. Capitales' leftfielder Buck McNabb drove in three runs. New Jersey starter Issac Pavlik got the loss going six and two-thirds innings, allowing eleven hits, seven runs and striking out seven. DH Sandy Madera brought in the only run for the Jackals in the sixth inning. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- WORCESTER 6, NORTH SHORE 4 (10) @ Lynn, Mass. Time: 3:56 ATT: 1352 W: David Byard (3-2) L: Jarrett Sues (0-1) S: None HR: WOR - Yohanny Valera 2(7) Worcester first baseman Yohanny Valera hit two homers and drove in three RBIs as the Tornadoes held off North Shore to win 6-4 in ten innings. Relief pitcher David Byard picked up the win for Worcester going two innings allowing two hits and one run. The Spirit were led at the plate by rightfielder Brian Macchi who went 3-for-5 at the plate. Jarrett Sues picked up his third loss of the season going three innings allowing one hit and two runs. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- BROCKTON 8, ELMIRA 4 @ Elmira, N.Y. Time: 2:43 ATT: 653 W: Mike Henry (4-2) L: Glen Keeton (3-3) S: Manny Tejada (1) HR: BRK - Matt Cucurullo (2) The Rox kept pace with Quebec picking up their seventh win of the second half and maintaining a share of first place in the division. Rox starter Mike Henry picked up his fourth win of the season going five and two-thirds innings, allowing eight hits and four runs. Catcher Brian Jones led the Rox at the plate going 3-for-5, with an RBI. Elmira starter Glen Keeton got the loss, going three and two-thirds innings, allowing ten hits and seven runs. The Pioneers were led at the plate by DH Jabe Bergeron, who went 3-for-4.
