Rome, G.A. - The Drive jumped out to an early lead in the first and added runs in the third and fourth while the pitching staff limited Rome to just five hits to win the rain-shortened series finale, 6-0, on Sunday afternoon at State Mutual Stadium.

The game was called in the middle of the seventh inning. With the victory, Greenville claimed the series, 4-2.

For the afternoon, the offense compiled 11 hits, three doubles and a triple. Joe Davis and Jaxx Groshans each drove in two runs. Groshans also tallied two doubles while Davis lashed two singles and scored a run. Christian Koss swatted three singles and touched home twice. Brandon Howlett registered two hits, a double, RBI and scored one run.

Casey Cobb, who was making his Drive debut, earned the win after tossing 3.0 shutout innings. He allowed three hits and a walk with three punchouts. Dylan Spacke started for Greenville and took a no decision. He hurled 3.0 innings without relenting a run on two hits and two walks while fanning four.

Mitch Stallings took the loss after surrendering three runs over 3.0 innings.

The Drive quickly took the lead in the top of the first inning. Koss, Scott and Davis stroked three-straight singles to begin the game. Davis' liner to left plated Koss. That brought Howlett to the plate who drew a walk. With the bases loaded, Groshans skied a sac fly to left for a 2-0 lead.

Greenville plated another run in the top of the third. Howlett led off with a line drive double to left. Groshans followed that with a double of his own to right, driving in Howlett on the play.

The away team's lead grew to 6-0 after a three-run fourth frame. Koss got things started with a one-out single and advanced to second on a stolen base. Davis then stroked his second single of the game to score Koss. After Davis got to second on a wild pitch, Howlett skied an RBI triple off the right field wall. Howlett then came around to score on a balk.

After an off-day Monday, the Drive return to Fluor Field Tuesday at 7:00 PM to begin a six-game series against the Hickory Crawdads, affiliate of the Texas Rangers.
