
Greenville Loses Series to Rome

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive lost the series with the Rome Braves after the Braves defeated the Drive by thirteen runs. The last game of the series ended with a final score of 14-1.
The Braves got busy quickly as they put a run on the board at the top of the first when Drew Campbell hit an RBI single.
The second inning was dominated by Rome as they scored six runs from three home runs by players Willie Carter, Vaughn Grissom, and Landon Stephens.
Rome had an identical third inning as they scored another six runs in only one inning. Hits by Jacob Pearson, Grissom, Stephens, and Beau Philip helped put the Braves far out of the Drive's reach as they led 13-0.
Greenville put their first run on the board at the bottom of the third when Joe Davis hit an RBI single.
After two scoreless innings Rome stacked on another run to the scoreboard after a wild pitch from Jordan DiValerio. The Braves led by thirteen runs for the rest of the game and finished their winning series off with a final score of 14-1.
The Greenville Drive heads to Greensboro as they begin a new series tomorrow.
