Greenville Lose to Twice Winston-Salem

Greenville, SC - The Greenville Drive dropped to the Dash in the third game of the series with a final score of Winston Salem 10 Greenville Drive 5.

After a rain delay the teams continued their third game the next day. The Drive was the first to put runs on the board at the top of the third when Matthew Lugo hit a double sending Ricardo Cubillano home. Nicholas Northcut also got in the mix when he hit his 16th home run of the season with a man on base.

In the next inning the Drive put up two more runs thanks to Nick Decker and Tyler McDonough. Decker hit a homer and McDonough hit a double allowing Cubillano to score his second run of the night.

The Dash started their comeback at the bottom of the fourth. Bryan Ramos got things rolling with a homerun and Winston-Salem's Harvin Mendoza hit a single to put another run on the scoreboard.

As the Drive began to slow down, the Dash kept things going when Tyler Osik hit a double in the fifth sending two men to home plate.

It was the nail in the coffin for Greenville when Winston Salem scored five runs in the seventh inning. Luis Meises helped the Dash run away with the game when he hit a grand slam. The final run was scored by Osik when hit one out of the park.

After a high-scoring baseball game, the tide change in the second game of the night and the Drive lost 3-0. The three runs for the Dash came from Moises Castillo in the first inning and Bryan Ramos in the third.

Drive pitcher Wyatt Olds pitched four innings and only allowed four hits but also allowed three runs.

The series in Winston Salem continues tomorrow night at 6:00.
