Greenville Beats Top Ranked NBDL Team in Overtime

Greenville, SC – In National Basketball Development League action Friday, November 29th at the BI-LO center 7th ranked Greenville defeated the top ranked Huntsville Flight 76 – 71. Greg Jones led Greenville; he scored 16 points, going 6-14 from the floor.

The victory was the fourth consecutive for the Groove and advances Greenville to 4-4, while Huntsville falls to 3-2.

Greenville out-scored the Flight 8-3 in the overtime period. Veteran Donald Hand led the team in overtime scoring with four of the eight Greenville points. After today's win, Greenville moves to 1-1 in overtime play.

Four Groove players had double figure scoring nights. Greg Jones (16), Greg Gray (13), Billy Thomas (12), and Donald Hand (10) all had double-digit outings. Greenville was led in rebounding by Kevin Lyde; he had eight rebounds and nine points.

Huntsville was led by guard Brandon Williams, who scored a game-high 20 points. He also accumulated seven rebounds and two blocked shots. Rodney Bias led the Flight in rebound with nine.

The Groove will face Roanoke on Saturday at 7:00 pm in the Roanoke Civic Center. The Groove is 1-0 verses the Dazzle this season. The teams faced off on Sunday, November 24 at the BI-LO Center, with Greenville winning 87- 72.
