August 28, 2018 - South Atlantic League (SAL1)
Augusta GreenJackets News Release
Lexington, KY: The Augusta GreenJackets, South Atlantic League affiliate of the San Francisco Giants, won 5-4 against the Lexington Legends on Tuesday night.
The Legends picked up right where they left off last night by scoring two runs in the bottom of the first inning. The GreenJackets would respond in the third inning, after Ryan Kirby knocked in Malique Ziegler to give Augusta their first run.
Another home run would put the Legend up 3-1, but the GreenJackets wouldn't take long to take their first lead of the game. In the top of the sixth inning, Augusta would put up three runs by converting on mistakes by Lexington. The GreenJackets would score on two wild pitches and an error.
Quickly the Legends would tie the game at 4 in the bottom of the inning. The score wouldn't stay tied for long as a sacrifice fly from Orlando Garcia scored Heliot Ramos to give the GreenJackets a 5-4 lead in the top of the seventh inning. The lead would hold as Camilo Doval earned his tenth save of the season. Augusta and Lexington are now tied at one game apiece.
The GreenJackets will be back in action tomorrow afternoon against the Legends at 1:05 pm.
After the four-game road trip the GreenJackets will return to SRP Park for a five-game series with the Columbia Fireflies.
