Rome, GA - The Augusta GreenJackets game against the Rome Braves for Thursday night has been cancelled because of rain. Steady rain fell all day long and the forecast called for continued rain showers through out the evening.

No make up date has been scheduled because neither team will play each other before the first half of the season ends.

The GreenJackets begin a four game series against the Catfish Friday night in Columbus, GA. Augusta will send right-hander Daryl Maday (2-2, 1.88) to the mound in the first game of the series. The Catfish counter with left-hander Brian Flores (2-1, 3.14). First pitch is scheduled for 7:05 p.m.

Game Notes:

This is the GreenJackets first game cancelled this season because of rain.

Augusta is 13-5 this season on the road and has won a season high six straight road games. In 18 games on the road this season the GreenJackets are batting .251 with 80 runs scored.

Augusta is 11-2 in the month of May with a staff ERA of 2.68. The offense is batting .254 with 64 runs driven in.
