
Greeneville's Waller named Sports Turf Manager of the Year

Greeneville Astros Sports Turf Manager Blair Waller has been named the 2004 Appalachian League Sports Turf Manager of the Year by a vote of the league's coaches and umpires.
Blair Waller enters her first year as the Sports Turf Manager for the Greeneville Astros. Waller, a 2004 graduate of Virginia Tech, is an employee of the Brickman Group-Sports Turf Services. Prior to overseeing Pioneer Park, Waller spent the 2003 summer with the Daytona Cubs of the Florida State League and the 2003 summer with the Danville Braves, in addition to a stint in San Juan, Puerto Rico for the Montreal Expos. Waller, 22, is a native of Halifax, VA.
Waller said of her award, "This is such an honor and a privilege. I could not have done it without the help of my staff and support of the Brickman Group." She is assisted by part-time assistants Scott Deans and Keith Jeffers on game days.
