Greene, Gleadle Make Bench for USLC Team of the Week

SEASIDE, Calif. - Following Monterey Bay's midweek 1-0 home win over Orange County SC at Cardinale Stadium on Wednesday, September 7, defender Kai Greene and forward Sam Gleadle have been named to the bench in USL Championship's Team of the Week for Week 27.

Greene secured a spot in the top 18 for Week 27 with his defensive performance on a night that saw Monterey Bay F.C. record its ninth shutout of the season (sixth most in the league), and seventh since July 2. Greene recorded an 84.7% passing accuracy on the night and won 11 of 14 duels. He also added four clearances, three tackles, and two interceptions.

Gleadle makes his second-consecutive team of the week behind a performance that saw the midfielder bag the game-winning goal in the 51st minute, his third in the last two matches. Gleadle also created two chances for the Union in the match, won six duels, and added two interceptions and a foul won.
