Green Ice Is Here For Jackals St. Patty's Weekend

Elmira, NY - The Elmira Jackals announced today that the conversion process of coloring the First Arena ice green has been completed in preparation for the St. Patrick's Day Weekend.
As the first place Muskegon Fury roll into town the Jackals are hard at work getting ready for a massive showdown with their Eastern Conference rivals. In the spirit of the St. Patrick's Day weekend the Jackals have dyed the ice green, they will wear special St. Patty's Day jerseys and the concessions will be selling Green Beer during the two-game series.
Friday, March 16th the battle begins as former Jackals Kevin Cooper and Brett Angel make their return to First Arena for the first time in a Muskegon uniform. The Jackals will welcome four new players making their First Arena debuts, all of whom joined the team during their recent long road trip. Forwards #22 Glenn Detulleo, #23 Andrew Leach, defenseman #20 Joe Markusen and goaltender #33 Zach Sikich have all played games against the Jackals at First Arena this season. However, Friday's game will mark the first time all four players will have hit the ice in Elmira in a Jackals jersey. Watkins Glen International will be displaying their Show Cars at First Arena and handing out a limited supply of posters at the game. Also on Friday is another WETM-2 TV broadcast, which will air on Time Warner Cable Channel #11 on Saturday at 12:00 pm.
Saturday, March 17th on the big day itself, the Jackals will again square off with Muskegon wearing the St. Patrick's Day Jerseys. After the game the game-worn jerseys will be auctioned off and autographed by the players who wore them. All weekend long the concession stands will be serving Green Beer at the regular rates. However, to anyone who is dressed in the true spirit of St. Patty's day (i.e. wearing a significant amount of green), the Jackals will offer a special Green Beer price of just $2 each.
The Jackals will square off with the Muskegon Fury both Friday and Saturday nights, March 16th and 17th at First Arena. Face off for both games is scheduled for 7:35 pm. Sunday Elmira heads back to Michigan for a big match up with the Port Huron Flags at 5:00 pm. March 23rd and 24th the Jackals will host the Kalamazoo Wings at First Arena.
