GREEN BAY, WISCONSIN - Green Bay netminder Maksim Zhukov stopped all 28 shots he faced as the Green Bay Gamblers (8-6-2-0, 18 pts.) defeated the Chicago Steel (9-3-1-2, 21 pts.) by a score of 4-0 Saturday night at Resch Center. It was the first time this season that the Steel have been shut out.

The Gamblers jumped out to a 1-0 lead courtesy of a power play goal in the first period. At 13:05, forward Brock Caufield sent a wrister into the back of the net from the right circle off a cross-ice feed from Nolan Moyle for his third goal of the season.

The Gamblers netted a shorthanded goal at 13:06 of the second period. Forward Josh Dunne led a 2-on-1 rush into the Chicago zone and sent a pass over to forward Trenton Bliss in the left circle. Bliss snapped a shot past the blocker of Steel goalie Oskar Autio for his eighth goal of the season, giving the home team a 2-0 lead.

In the third, Green Bay forward Matt Jennings found himself on a breakaway and sent a backhanded shot five-hole for his fourth goal of the year at the 6:41 mark.

The Gamblers sealed the 4-0 victory with an empty net goal by defenseman Ryan Verrier with just over three minutes remaining, sending the puck down the ice from his own zone and into the empty cage.

Green Bay outshot Chicago by a 35-28 margin with Autio making 31 saves in net for the Steel. The Chicago power play was held off the scoresheet in six tries in the contest while the Gamblers went 1-for-8 on the man advantage.
