Green Bay Blizzard News Release
The Green Bay Blizzard and Head Coach Rik Richards announced today the signing of four All-Conference players. Cleveland McCoy out of South Carolina State will play both WR and QB for the Blizzard. Fellow South Carolina State lineman Raymond Harrison will help anchor the Blizzard Offensive Line. Tino Amancio brings a big leg from Idaho and will solidify the kicking game. In the backfield will be James Madison RB Eugene Holloman. Coach Richards commented that "These four players should help our offensive unit move the ball and create some exciting plays for our fans."
Cleveland McCoy (6'2" 213lbs) was recently seen in NFL camps for the Browns and Lions, and also played in the CFL. He was a stand out at South Carolina State, breaking every season passing record. In 29 games at South Carolina State, he completed 208 of 387 passes (53.7 percent) for 2,981 yards, 23 touchdowns and 17 interceptions. McCoy rushed for 1,096 yards and 12 touchdowns on 282 carries. McCoy was named a preseason All-MEAC candidate in 2006. McCoy's 2005 season saw him lead the MEAC in passing and was a First Team All-Conference selection.
South Carolina State Lineman Raymond Harrison (6'0" 295lbs) was selected AP FCS All-American for the 2008 college football season as voted on by The Associated Press. Harrison earned Second Team All-American honors and was a key performer in one of the most dominating offensive attacks in the MEAC during the 2008 season. Harrison helped SCSU offense gain 4,972 yards of total offense including 2,651 yards on the ground. With Harrison at the lead, the Bulldogs posted the league's top rusher in running back Ford. Harrison earned Offensive Line of the Week honors twice during the season.
Tino Amancio (5'9" 215lbs.) is a kicker from the University of Idaho. He was selected All-Western Athletic Conference Second Team for the 2008 college football season by the nine WAC Conference coaches. Amancio, a native of Fontana, California didn't miss a PAT during his three-year career at Idaho to become the first Vandal to achieve a perfect PAT mark (82 of 82). He ranks second all-time in career field goals attempted (66) and made (43). His career field goal percentage of 65.2 is third all-time at Idaho.
In 2007, James Madison Running Back Eugene Holloman (5'11" 170lbs.) played in only two games before suffering a knee injury, after being preseason all-league. In 2006, Holloman played in 10 games and started eight after the JMU staff planned to hold him out for the year behind two 2,000-yard career rushers. He led JMU in rushing yards, carries and rushing TDs, his 1,085 rushing yards were JMU's No. 7 season mark and his 192 attempts No. 8. Holloman was 21st nationally in rushing, named first Team All-A-10, Second Team All-Virginia by the Roanoke Times and VaSID, and was also named co-team offensive MVP. He had six 100-yard games, including a season-best 171 on 15 carries vs. Delaware.
