April 5, 2005 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Philadelphia Soul News Release

PHILADELPHIA- Philadelphia Soul Quarterback Tony Graziani has been selected as the Arena Football League's Offensive Player of the Week for his standout performance in Sunday's 62-45 victory over the Columbus Destroyers. The announcement was made on ESPNews this afternoon at 4pm (ET).

Graziani connected on 20-of-29 passes for 261 yards and seven touchdowns, without throwing an interception. The outstanding showing earned him Offensive Player of the Game honors for the third straight week. The consecutive awards come on the heels of his 23 touchdown passes with no interceptions over the same three-game stretch.

Through 10 games this season, Graziani has completed 196 for 329 (60%) of his attempts for 2,690 yards and nine interceptions. His 63 touchdown passes lead the AFL and he is currently on pace for a career-high of 101 touchdowns this season.

Graziani has now been named "Offensive Player of the Week" four times in his AFL career. Each award came while he was a member of the Los Angeles Avengers, where he spent his first four seasons in the AFL.

This is the fourth time during this season that a Soul player has earned a weekly League award. Sean Scott (twice) and Marcus Knight both earned Ironman of the Week honors.

The Soul travel to Colorado this Sunday, April 10th, looking to extend their three-game winning streak. Kickoff is set for 1:00 pm (ET) and can be seen live on NBC Sports (NBC-10 WCAU-Philadelphia). The game can also be heard on News Talk 990 am WNTP-Philadelphia or via the internet at www.philadelphiasoul.com.
