Fleming named US Army Ironman of the Week

ORLANDO, Fla. (Apr. 5, 2005) -- For the second time this season, Orlando Predators WR/LB Cory Fleming has been named the "US Army Ironman of the Week" by the Arena Football League.
Fleming, in his ninth AFL season, exploded offensively last week against Los Angeles â catching 11 passes for 159 yards and four touchdowns in leading the Predators to a 55-54 overtime win. Fleming's 4th touchdown came with just 7.7 seconds left and forced overtime. He added 2.5 tackles on defense.
The award marked Fleming's second "Ironman of the Week" award, as he also took the honor in Orlando's 39-36 season-opening win over Colorado. Despite missing two games with an injury, he currently leads Orlando with in receptions (51), receiving touchdowns (18) and scoring (108).
Predators rookie Jimmy Fryzel (9-151-2 TD) and quarterback Joe Hamilton (team record 362 passing yards) were both finalists for "Offensive Player of the Week." Hamilton completed 82.7% of his passes (24 of 29) and threw a season-high seven touchdowns. Fryzel ranks fourth in the Arena Football League, averaging more than 108 yards per reception.
Orlando (7-3) returns to action on Saturday, traveling to Tampa Bay (5-4) for the 37th edition of the "War on I-4." The game will be televised on Sun Sports (Rick Peckham and James Bates) and broadcast on WQTM 740 AM.
