DENVER - After missing two games due to an upper-body injury, Mammoth forward John Grant Jr. returned to the line-up Friday night to snag a "˜sock trick' (six goals), highlighted by an incredible goal that some have described as "miraculous". The shot amazed Pepsi Center fans, earned the number two spot on SportsCenter's Top 10 on Saturday, and went viral, reaching more than 350,000 views to-date on YouTube, Yahoo! Sports and Deadspin.com. It was a between-the-legs fake that led to a behind-the-back bounce shot into the upper corner of the net, all with Grant's off-hand.

On Sunday, Colorado forward Adam Jones netted the game-winner 9:38 into overtime, clinching a spot in the playoffs for the Mammoth.

For their performances in Week 12, the National Lacrosse League announced today that Grant and Jones have been named the league's Offensive Player of the Week and Rookie of the Week, respectively.

"John has been a tower of strength for our group and his leadership has been outstanding," said Mammoth head coach Bob Hamley.

Grant led all scorers over the weekend with 19 points (9g, 10a), and leads the league in goals (40) and points (87).

Jones' game-winner was one of four goals he scored on Sunday against the Philadelphia Wings. He also contributed five assists. On Friday night, he chipped in with 2 goals and one helper. The 22-year-old leads all NLL rookies with 61 points.

"Adam has worked very hard to this point in the season and is very deserving of the accolades," said Hamley.

Jones has claimed Rookie of the Week honors three times, and was also the NLL's Rookie of the Month for January. Grant has now been named the NLL's Offensive Player of the Week four times this season. He took home Player of the Month honors in January and February.

The Colorado Mammoth takes on the Rochester Knighthawks, Grant's former team, this Saturday at 11:05am MT at Blue Cross Arena in Rochester, N.Y. The game will air live on Altitude Sports & Entertainment.
