Corpus Christi IceRays News Release
CORPUS CHRISTI, TX - IceRays defenseman Grant Hutton will make his first start in the United States Hockey League this weekend with the Indiana Ice when they visit Muskegon this Saturday night and host Youngstown on Sunday afternoon at 3:05PM inside the Bankers Life Fieldhouse.
The Carmel, IN native suited up for the Indiana Junior Ice U16 team last year before coming to Corpus Christi.
"Grant has been developing well as the season has progressed," said head coach Justin Quenneville. "He is deserving of this opportunity and we are confident he will represent our team well."
In 29 games with the IceRays, Hutton has a goal and four assists and leads the team with a +8 rating.
The 6-2 defender was selected by Indiana in the 2012 USHL Entry Draft.
"With our off week coming up and an injury plagued Indiana lineup, this is a good opportunity for Grant," Quenneville added.
The IceRays host "Pink in the Rink" night tonight against the Odessa Jackalopes. Puck drops at 7:05PM, coverage begins at 6:50PM with the IceRays Pregame Show on ustream.com, sportsjuice.com, the TuneIn Radio APP, and fasthockey.com.
