Oklahoma City Yard Dawgz News Release

OKLAHOMA CITY- The OKC Yard Dawgz are proud to announce that the Arena Football League has named QB Tommy Grady and WR Timon Marshall players of the week. Grady was awarded the Russell Athletic Offensive Player of the Week for his stand-out performance last weekend against Bossier-Shreveport. Marshall was awarded the Spalding Highlight of the Game for his game winning touchdown last weekend with :33 left in the fourth quarter.

Grady had not only a stand-out performance for the weekend, it was also his stand-out performance of the season. Grady completed 34-of-42 passes for 430 yards and 10 touchdowns, all are season-highs for the second year Yard Dawg. His completion rate of 81 percent is nearly 15 points higher than his season average. So far this season, Grady has tallied 1,513 passing yards, good for fifth most in the league.

"We knew that once we could solidify our offensive line Tommy was not only capable of leading the team, but putting up big numbers, as well. A lot of credit needs to go to all the receivers because they all had a good night" said Head Coach Sparky McEwen.

Marshall stole the show and the game this weekend in Oklahoma City's 88-79 victory over the Bossier-Shreveport BattleWings. The BattleWings managed to pull ahead 79-75 in the fourth quarter with :33 remaining on the clock, but the Yard Dawgz' staunch defense forced Bossier-Shreveport to resort to a field goal as the final minutes were ticking down. The field goal was missed and fell into the hands of Marshall, who ran the ball back for a score to put Oklahoma City ahead 82-79 with only :04 remaining on the clock. The Yard Dawgz managed another score off a fumble recovery on the final play of the game, but it was Marshall's return that put Oklahoma City up for good.

"When we signed Timon Marshall we knew we had a difference maker," said McEwen.

The Yard Dawgz will host the Spokane Shock on Sunday, May 16, at the Cox Convention Center. Single game tickets are on sale, starting at only $10! The Yard Dawgz Block Party will begin at noon on Reno and kickoff is scheduled for 2:05 p.m.
