Milwaukee Mustangs News Release

MILWAUKEE - The Milwaukee Iron and the Arena Football League announced today that Iron linebacker Marcus Everett was named the Riddell Defensive Player of the Week in Week 6 after he set a team record by intercepting two interceptions and returning them for touchdowns.

Everett (6-1, 212, UCLA) is this week's defensive player of the week after his strong performance helped to lead the Milwaukee Iron to their fourth victory of the season. Milwaukee handed the Chicago Rush their first loss of the season, and Everett played a key role in the game. Everett tallied two interceptions, one which he ran back nine yards for a score and another which he ran back 46 yards for a score. The second interception was made one-handed and officially knocked the game out of reach for the Rush, bringing the score to 54-27. In total, Everett now has three interceptions on the season, good for second most in the league.

The Milwaukee Iron play host to the Utah Blaze this Friday, May 14 at 7 pm for the NFL Network Game of the Week. Tickets are still available for just $10 in the lower level.

The Iron will also welcome the Green Bay Packers first round draft pick Bryan Bulaga for his first Milwaukee appearance on Friday. The Iron will be giving the first 10,000 fans a photo of Bulaga and will have the opportunity to meet and greet the 23rd overall pick in the 2010 NFL Draft prior to the Iron game when they take on Utah at 7 pm.
