Bakersfield Condors News Release
Victoria, B.C. - RW Stephane Goulet's hat trick lead the Bakersfield Condors (31-25-2-1, 65pts) to a 5-2 win over the Victoria Salmon Kings (27-29-1-2, 57pts) in front of 4,229 fans at Save-On-Foods Memorial Center Saturday night.
For the first time in the three-game series, the Condors got on the board first. Goulet put the Condors up 1-0 at 12:38 of the period. LW Guillaume Lefebvre increased the lead to 2-0 just 28 seconds later, giving the Condors their largest lead of the week. Victoria scored shorthanded before the end of the period, however, when former Condor LW Chad Painchaud buried a wrister on a breakaway to bring the score to 2-1 at the break.
C Adam Naglich regained the two goal lead for the Condors at 12:36 of the second. Naglich picked up a rebound from a Goulet shot and buried it as the Condors led 3-1. Less than two minutes later the Salmon Kings brought the score to 3-2 as RW Bryan Cameron slapped a puck out of mid-air and past G Brian Stewart. Goulet picked up his second goal of the night with just 31 seconds left in the middle stanza to grant Bakersfield their third two-goal lead of the game.
Goulet added a final goal to complete the hat trick 2:09 into the third period, beating G Chris Beckford-Tseu on the wraparound. Stewart picked up his second straight win for the Condors, and allowed just 5 goals in three games in Victoria.
