NJ/NY Gotham FC News Release

NEW YORK / HARRISON, NJ - In an unprecedented move for women's professional sports, Gotham FC and New York Liberty have joined forces to present a first-of-its-kind NWSL-WNBA collaboration. This landmark partnership unites the two leagues while amplifying the spirit of women's empowerment and women supporting each other.

The collaboration centers around a t-shirt featuring the tagline Pass Her The Torch, accompanied by an image of the torch itself - a mutual emblem representing Gotham FC and the Liberty - symbolizing the unwavering commitment of both teams to illuminate the accomplishments of women, within the local community and on a global scale. The graphic is a nod to the prints of the late 1960s and early 1970s when the women's rights movement was emerging. CarMax, official partner of Gotham FC, the Liberty, NWSL, and WNBA, proudly showcases its logo on the sleeve as a testament to its continued commitment to supporting women's sports.

Gotham FC will don the tees on the team's Fit Walk prior to its Aug. 27 game, which is Womxn's Equity Night presented by CarMax at Red Bull Arena. The game will be a celebration of progress and a symbol of unity in the journey towards gender equality as well as the first regular season home game since the World Cup. The following night, on Aug. 28, members of the Liberty will sport the t-shirts as they make their way into Barclays Center for their game.

Pass Her The Torch t-shirts will be available Aug. 27 for purchase at the Gotham FC game and beginning on Aug. 28 at the official team store of the New York Liberty, Brooklyn Fanatics, located within Barclays Center.
