Gorillas back on Cumulus Airwaves

AMARILLO, TX –The Amarillo Gorillas of the Central Hockey League announced today that it's radio broadcasts will return to Cumulus Media, beginning with the home opener on Friday, October 22 when the Gorillas face the Odessa Jackalopes.

The one-year agreement plus an option, calls for all of the Gorillas 60-game regular-season schedule as well as playoffs to be aired in their entirety and without interruption on 1440 AM The Score. If there are conflicts due to football, some of the games will be moved to 1550 AM The Zone.

Veteran radio broadcaster Denis J. Puska returns to the microphone for his third year with the Gorillas and fourth in Amarillo. Puska won the prestigious CHL Broadcaster of the year this past season.

"We are thrilled to be back together with Cumulus Media once again," said Puska. "The Score is a great station that our fans will be able to identify with and we are looking forward to a long and healthy relationship with them."

All Amarillo Gorillas broadcasts will begin with the Farmer's Insurance Group Warm Up Show, 20-minutes before the puck is dropped, and conclude with the Waddell and Reid Post Game Report. The broadcasts will also be aired on the worldwide web at www.amarillogorillas.com. Other special editions coming this season include more interactive features where fans will be able to get involved while they are listening through the Internet.

The Amarillo Gorillas are gearing up for their third season in the Central Hockey League this fall and there are less than 30 days remaining until opening night on Friday, October 22 when Amarillo hosts Odessa at 7 p.m.

Season Ticket Holders are reminded to have their tickets paid in full by October 1 and that the Season Ticket Holder Party is set for Tuesday, Oct. 12 at 6:30 p.m. at The Jungle in the Amarillo Civic Center.
