Milwaukee Wave News Release
MILWAUKEE (Jan. 21, 2008) -- Goodwill Industries and the Milwaukee Wave are teaming up to bring fans a "Futbol and Fashion" doubleheader on Feb. 2, when the Wave host the California Cougars at the U.S. Cellular Arena.
One hour before kickoff, at 5 p.m., Goodwill of Southeast Wisconsin will put on "Fashion Through the Decades," one in their series of Vintage Fashion Shows. The event is free with admission to the Wave game and will take place in the Media Room at field level.
"Fashion Through the Decades" is a unique show of women's clothing and accessories from the early 1900s through 1990s. The show takes the audience on a nostalgic trip back in time and gives the younger members of the audience an insight into what their mothers and grandmothers once wore. Models are featured in 32 different outfits as a commentator describes the fashions, weaving a bit of history into the presentation.
All of the Vintage Fashion Shows are created and presented by Goodwill's Volunteer Services. The proceeds are used to support Goodwill's mission of providing work opportunities and skill development for people with barriers to employment.
The show is part of "Soccer Mom Night" with the Wave. Moms can also participate in a pregame ceremony and receive a flower from the moms of Wave players Brett Wiesner and Joe Hammes. Kickoff is at 6 p.m.
It's a "Family Four-Pack" game; four tickets, four sodas and four hot dogs can be purchased for just $60. Pre-order by calling (414) 224-9283. Family Four-Packs are not available on the day of the game.
