Spokane Chiefs News Release

Spokane needs history on their side Monday night when they host the Portland Winterhawks in game six of the Western Conference Finals. Portland used a 3-2 victory at home on Saturday night to take a lead in the best-of-seven. Spokane has been in this position before, down 3-2 in the series with Portland needing to win a game six to keep their season alive. Four of the last five playoff meetings between the two have gone the distance and each time Spokane has won a sixth game forcing the seventh and deciding game.

Tickets for Monday night's game in the Spokane Arena are available by calling the Chiefs office at (509) 535-PUCK (7825), TicketsWest at (800) 325-SEAT (7328) or by logging onto www.ticketswest.com.

Spokane earned an 8-3 win on Friday night, the last game that was played in the Spokane Arena. That was the only game out of the first five in the series that was not decided by one goal. The winner of the Western Conference Championship Series will take on the Kootenay Ice in the WHL Finals. The Ice have won 10 in a row after sweeping the Medicine Hat Tigers in the East.
