
GolTV to Broadcast TFC July 9

Toronto FC announced Friday GolTV, the 24 hour all soccer network, has acquired the live broadcasting rights to the second leg of the 2008 Nutrilite Canadian Championship match between Toronto FC and USL-1's Vancouver Whitecaps FC. The game will take place at Swangard Stadium in Burnaby, B.C. on Wednesday, July 9 with a kickoff at 10p.m. E.T.
CBC Sports will also provide live broadband coverage of the game, exclusively at CBCSports.ca.
The match is the second of a home-and-home series between the two sides. Vancouver was victorious in the first game winning 1-0 at BMO Field on July 1. Toronto's record in the Nutrilite Canadian Championship is 1-1-0, while Vancouver's record is 1-2-0. The Montreal Impact top the standings with a record of 2-1-0, and will visit Toronto to wrap up the tournament at BMO Field on Tuesday, July 22. The winner of the tournament will be Canada's representative in the CONCACAF Champions League preliminary round which begins at the end of August.
