Golden Eagles Win 9th Game in Last 10

Glens Falls, NY Pitching has been the story all season for the Golden Eagles and Thursday was no different. Rick Morales (Siena), Armand Rugel (Stonehill), Matt Eckleman (Saint Louis) combined for a four hitter.

We're a team that plays with a lot of intensity and it fueled our fire early in the game. Stated Josh Anderson (Florida International). Anderson hit a two run home run in the first to give Glens Falls a lead that they would never relinquish. The home run was Anderson's 12th career PGCBL home run.

The Golden Eagles tacked on two more in the fourth when Buddy Putnam (South Florida) walked that scored a run and Braxton Martinez (Saint Louis) drove in a run on a ground out. The scoring concluded when Anderson singled home Jimmy Smith (St. Peter's) in the eighth.

Morales got the start for Glens Falls as he went five innings striking out four and allowing just a run on three hits. Rugel struck out 3 in and allowed just a walk in three innings of work. Eckleman stranded a runner on second in the ninth.

With the win on Thursday night the Golden Eagles have won nine out of their last ten games. They head to Albany for a double header on Friday with a 2 game lead in the Eastern Division. The Golden Eagles are back home on Sunday against Watertown with Andy Cheray (Missouri State) scheduled to pitch.
