St. George RoadRunners News Release

(Pleasanton, CA. May 24, 2007) The Golden Baseball League, a professional independent minor league, is pleased to announce that the St. George Roadrunners Baseball Club has been sold to Triple Play Group LLC, a St. George, Utah-based sports management group for a seven-figure purchase price. The new ownership group is headed by current team GM Rick Berry, along with managing partners Cory Snyder and Darin Kracl. Berry, will continue in his role as General Manager of the team, Snyder will continue in his role as field manager, and Kracl will also continue in his role as pitching coach. Berry and Kracl are residents of St. George while Snyder is a Utah resident based north of St. George

"This sale is significant for the Golden Baseball League as it validates our model of blending league-owned teams with strong local ownership groups in appropriate markets," said GBL CEO David Kaval. "We launched this league three years ago under a single-entity ownership model to provide the early incubation and stability that had been lacking in many failed leagues over the years. Now that the structure for success is in place with facility leases, fan bases, business sponsors, and media awareness in our markets it makes sense to bring a strong local ownership group into the equation to take the team to the next level of business performance by tying it even stronger to the local community. As our second team sale in the last two months, it is clear that team sales or local ownership based expansion franchises has become a successful aspect of our business model."

"Our group is very excited to have this opportunity to bring professional baseball back to St. George," said Berry. "With this purchase we really have the best of both worlds as we continue in one of the finest professional independent baseball leagues in the country, but also have now created a community asset that is owned locally and has truly become St. George's team."

"We are thrilled to have such a capable ownership group to take the reins of the Roadrunners in St. George," concluded Kaval. "Rick's business experience and leadership skills coupled with the deep baseball knowledge and financial acumen of Cory and Darin create a very competent group that can develop a successful franchise and bring many years of family entertainment at Bruce Hurst Field to the people of St. George. We are very confident that the community, businesses, and fans will be very supportive of the team and are looking forward to seeing them in action on Opening Night on June 7th."
