San Angelo Colts News Release

The San Angelo Colts ended their season at Foster Field on Monday night with an 8-2 win over the Amarillo Dillas to sweep the three-game series.

The win gives the Colts a season-high six-game winning streak and allows them to finish the season above .500 at 46-45, good enough for fifth place in the ULB standings.

San Angelo put the game away early by putting five runs on the board in the first inning against Amarillo starter Chris Ingoglia.

Designated hitter Jason Landreth started things with an RBI single, before Landon Camp provided the big blow with a three-run homerun (24).

Rightfielder Steven Rinaudo then drove in his first run as a Colt with a triple to give the Colts a 5-0 lead.

They added two more runs in the second on an RBI groundout by Landreth and a sac-fly by leftfielder Jason Crosland to push the San Angelo lead to 7-0.

Amarillo got a run in the fifth as leftfielder Adam De La Garza belted his seventh homer of the year, a solo shot, to cut San Angelo's lead to six.

Two innings later, Dillas first-baseman Alberto Cruz swatted another solo-homer (14) to draw Amarillo a run closer at 7-2.

The Colts, however, would respond in the seventh as shortstop Butch Ballez capped off his season with an RBI single to give San Angelo the final count of 8-2.

Asides from Camp's homer, San Angelo was led by second-baseman Mark Ramos who went 3-5 with two doubles, a single and two runs scored.

Amarillo got two hits apiece from De La Garza and Cruz who each homered and singled in four at-bats.

Starter Logan Williamson (4-2) got the win for San Angelo as he allowed only two runs on six hits in seven innings of work while striking out six.

Ingoglia (3-4) suffered the loss for Amarillo after giving up eight runs on nine hits in seven innings.

He also struck out eight and walked five.

Despite missing the playoffs for the first time since 2007, the Colts had some personal highlights.

Crosland finished the season with 25 homeruns to tie the single-season Colts record, while pitcher Ezequiel Astacio struck out the lone man he faced in relief on Monday to finish the season as the ULB's strikeout king with 125.
