
Goaltender Ben Scriven Assigned to Reading

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Toronto Maple Leafs and Boston Bruins of the National Hockey League and the Toronto Marlies of the American Hockey League, today announced that goaltender Ben Scrivens has been assigned by the Maple Leafs from the Marlies to the Royals. In a separate transaction, the Royals released goaltender Dan Dunn from his Amateur Tryout Agreement with the team.
This marks the sixth time this season that Scrivens (6'2/185) (24), a first year pro from Spruce Grove, Alberta, has been assigned to Reading. In thirteen games with the Royals, Scrivens compiled a record of 10-3-0-0 with a 2.23 goals against average and a .938 save percentage. In his last appearance with the Royals on Sunday, February 6, 2011, at Sun National Bank Center in Trenton, New Jersey, Scrivens established a team record with his ninth consecutive win when he made forty-one saves in a 4-3 victory for the Royals over the Trenton Devils. Scrivens played thirty-three games this season with the Marlies, compiling a 13-12-3 record with a 2.33 goals against average and .924 save percentage and two shutouts. Dunn, a first year pro from Oshawa, Ontario, who completed his senior season at St. Cloud State University this season, was signed to an ATO on April 5, 2011, and served as the team's back-up goaltender in the four games played during the Eastern Conference Quarter-Final series against the Cincinnati Cyclones.
The Royals will kick off the Eastern Conference Semi-Finals where they will face the Kalamazoo Wings in the best-of-seven series on Friday (April 15 @ 7:05 pm) at Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania.
