Colorado Mammoth News Release
DENVER - The Colorado Mammoth announced today that goaltender Tye Belanger has been added to the team's 23-man Active Roster, pending league approval. He was on the Physically Unable to Perform List due to an off-season injury that he sustained that was unrelated to lacrosse. Goalie Matt Roik has been released.
"I am very confident in our young goaltending tandem, and I see them backstopping this team well into the future," said Mammoth president & general manager Steve Govett.
Belanger, 22, played 21 minutes in 2012, stopping 15 of the 18 shots he faced. A second-round pick of the Mammoth's in the 2011 NLL Entry Draft, Belanger was the Canadian Junior Goalie of the Year before being drafted.
Roik posted a 2-2 record with a .720 save percentage and a 13.66 goals-against average with Colorado this season.
Tickets for the Mammoth's next home game on Saturday, March 2nd at 7pm MST against the defending NLL champion Rochester Knighthawks are on sale now at the Pepsi Center box office, all Colorado Dick's Sporting Goods retail kiosks, online at TicketHorse.com, or by calling 303.53.HORSE.
