Goal by Stan Galiev Nets Number Nine

Reading, PA - The Reading Royals of the ECHL, affiliate of the Washington Capitals of the National Hockey League and the Hershey Bears of the American Hockey League, today note that the goal scored by Stan Galiev in Wednesday's 4-2 victory over the Florida Everblades at the Sovereign Center in Reading, Pennsylvania, was celebrated today as one of the Top Ten Plays of the Day by ESPN's SportsCenter. The breakaway goal scored at the 15:53 mark of the third period was selected as Number Nine in the top plays sequence. The goal by Galiev, a first year pro from Moscow, Russia, was his second as a Royal in seven games played with the team. The Royals thank the ECHL, the team's fans, and hockey fans everywhere-as well as the efforts of Marketing Coordinator Andrew Capizzi-for the support needed to make this recognition possible.

The Royals head to Elmira, New York, for back-to-back game against the Atlantic Division rival Elmira Jackals tonight (Friday, December 7) and Saturday (December 8). Both games are scheduled to start at 7:00 pm with the Game Night Broadcast kicking off at 6:30 pm on ESPN Radio (1240 am and 98.5 fm). As with all Royals road games this season, the games on Friday and Saturday will be televised locally in Berks County, Pennsylvania, on BCTV.
