GM and Former Louisiana IceGator Louis Dumont Inducted into the ECHL Hockey Hall of Fame

On Wednesday, January 21st, the ECHL held their 2015 All Star Classic game and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in Orlando. The Louisiana IceGators General Manager and former IceGator player (1996-1999) Louis Dumont was one of four individuals to receive the honor of being inducted into the ECHL's Hall of Fame Class of 2015.

Dumont, who retired from professional hockey in May of 2011, played 17 seasons, 12 of which were in the ECHL. During his career he received numerous award and honors. He is the ECHL's all-time assists (566) and points (891) leader. He is also 3rd in games played (771) and tied for 3rd in goals (325). During the 2001-2002 season, Dumont won the ECHL scoring title while playing with the Pensacola Ice Flyers by posting 32 goals and 70 assists for a total of 102 points in 72 games. That season he was selected to be on the All-ECHL First Team and to attend the All Star Game as member of ECHL All-Star team, where he won the Fastest Skater competition.

Each season of Louis' career he would see playoff action. With 12 postseasons, in the ECHL, he is tied for 17th all-time with 38 postseason assists and tied for 18th with 74 postseason games played.

The ECHL began selecting Hall of Fame Classes in 2008. To date there have be 33 inductees selected.
