Glens Falls Dragons News Release

The Glens Falls Dragons (8-13) stormed past the Oneonta Outlaws (6-14) 6-1 Monday night at East Field, improving to (8-2) on the season at home in front of the biggest crowd at The Cave this summer.

Local player Tyler Mattison (Bryant) who just pitched Fort Ann to the Class D State Championship started on the mound for the Dragons, making his home-game debut and striking out 5 of the first 6 batters. He allowed three hits, one earned run, and struck out ten in six innings of work. Mattison pitched 4 1/3 innings of no-hit ball.

Glens Falls commenced the night's scoring in the bottom of the second with a single from Owen Wosleger (American International) to bring in Nick Jacques (Le Moyne). Moments later, Brandon Torres (Oneonta) singled to allow Wosleger to cross the plate, making the score 2-0 Dragons.

Two innings later, Glens Falls added to their lead after another single from Torres, and a pair of doubles from Brian Uliana (Rider) and Anthony Vaglica (LIU Post) all allowed a runner to score, bringing the score to 5-0 Dragons at the end of the fifth.

The Outlaws got on the board early in the sixth with a single from Ben Dubas (Alvernia) to bring in Stone Pellegrino (Spartanburg Methodist) and make the score 5-1.

Late in the eighth, Dragons' Mark Powell notched an RBI to bring the score to 6-1 Glens Falls.

Tyler Mattison was the winning pitcher, and Michael White took the loss.

The Dragons return to East Field tomorrow to take on Mohawk Valley. The first pitch is set for 7PM
