Atlanta Gladiators News Release

The Gwinnett Gladiators announced today that they have traded defenseman Troy Milam to the Reading Royals for financial considerations.

A rookie last season, Milam ranked first among Gladiators defensemen with 27 assists. He posted 6 goals, 2 on the man advantage, in 60 games last year for the Gladiators.

The 6-foot, 180-pound defenseman out of Lake Orion, Michigan was twice recalled to the Reading Royals American Hockey League affiliate, the Manchester Monarchs last season. In 7 games in the AHL, Milam recorded a goal and was a +2.

"Troy has a fantastic opportunity to advance to the next level in that organization," said Gladiators Head Coach Jeff Pyle.

In his rookie season last year, Milam was named to the Par-A-Dice ECHL All Star Game in Peoria, Illinois where he recorded a goal and an assist for the Western Conference All Stars.

The Central Division Champion Gwinnett Gladiators begin their second season on the road before hosting in-state rival Augusta on Friday, October 29th at 7:35 p.m. at home. In addition to having a ticket package for everyone, the Gladiators also offer group outings, suites and birthday parties. The Gladiators play all 36 home games at the Arena at Gwinnett Center located on Sugarloaf Parkway in Duluth and are the AA affiliate of the Atlanta Thrashers.
