
Gladiators donate $1,250 to Greater Las Vegas After-School All-Stars

Las Vegas, NV, May 18, 2005 â The Las Vegas Gladiators have generated $1,250 to donate to the Greater Las Vegas After-School All-Stars through their "Fling-A-Football" program during every home game.
Gladiators General Manager Dan Dolby will be presenting the $1,250 donation to Elaine Wynn and John Pucci of the After-School All-Stars at the Gladiators game at Noon on Sunday, May 22, when they host to the Arizona Rattlers.
"We are always trying to get more involved with the community and working with the After-School All-Stars has been great," Dolby said. "This is just another way for the Gladiators to show our support for the community here in Las Vegas."
The $1,250 donation from the Gladiators will be used to support after-school sports, education and mentoring programs for at-risk youth. These programs are provided free by the After-School All-Stars to youth throughout the greater Las Vegas area.
"We are grateful to the Las Vegas Gladiators for this extremely generous donation," said Jackie Locks, executive director of the After-School All-Star program. "Community and corporate partners, such as the Las Vegas Gladiators, make it possible for us to provide comprehensive out-of-school programs that keep our children safe and help them achieve success in school and life."
The Greater Las Vegas After-School All-Star program provides opportunities for inner-city youth to participate in after-school and summer activities in sports, educational, cultural and community-enrichment programs that are free to all participants. Since its inception, The Greater Las Vegas After-School All-Star program has positively affected the lives of more than 100,000 Southern Nevada youth.
The Gladiators return home to take on Arizona in the final game of the regular season on Sunday, May 22, to take on the Rattlers at the Thomas & Mack Center. Kickoff is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. PT and can be heard on ESPN Radio 920 with Andrew Siciliano and Mike Pritchard calling the game.
