Gladiators Acquire WR Carlese Franklin from New Orleans

CLEVELAND - The Cleveland Gladiators have acquired WR Carlese Franklin from the New Orleans VooDoo, in exchange for Future Considerations, the team announced today.

Franklin (5-11, 190, McNeese State) has appeared in 3 games this season and has four receptions for 85 yards and two touchdowns on the season. Last season was his best with the VooDoo, finishing with 67 receptions for 855 yards and 12 touchdowns despite only playing in 11 games.

"Carlese will give us depth at the wide receiver position," Gladiators head coach Steve Thonn said. "We are looking forward to adding him to the mix."

Franklin is expected to be available for the Gladiators game this Saturday versus Tampa Bay at 7:30 pm at The Q.

The Cleveland Gladiators are part of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Quicken Loans Arena organization and also owned by a group led by Cavaliers Majority Owner and Quicken Loans Founder and Chairman Dan Gilbert. The group also owns and operates the Lake Erie Monsters of the American Hockey League playing at Quicken Loans Arena and the Canton Charge of the NBA Development League playing in nearby Canton, Ohio at the Canton Civic Center.
