Toronto, ON - (September 01, 2009) - Nik Lewis, Jamall Johnson, Titus Ryan and Noel Prefontaine were named the Gibson's Finest CFL Players of the Week for week five, the Canadian Football League announced today.
The four players were chosen by a panel of judges that includes former Canadian Football League players Matt Dunigan and Duane Forde, now of TSN, and Pierre Vercheval of RDS.

SB - Nik Lewis - Calgary Stampeders

Highlights / Key Stats:
Nik Lewis led the Calgary Stampeders in receiving with 118 yards on five catches in Calgary's 23-20 victory over the Toronto Argonauts on Friday. His longest reception was a 52-yard catch in the fourth quarter.
Lewis also showed his versatility in the victory with a big block on Argos linebacker Zeke Moreno in the fourth quarter. With Henry Burris scrambling Lewis made the block on Moreno allowing Burris to complete a six-yard pass to Teyo Johnson.

Highlights / Key Stats:
Jamall Johnson led the way for the Hamilton defence with eight tackles including one quarterback sack in the Ticats' loss to the Eskimos. Johnson's sack in the fourth quarter forced a six-yard loss and almost pushed the Eskimos out of range on Edmonton's winning field goal. Johnson also added a special teams tackle in the loss.
Johnson has 55 defensive tackles on the season. He is tied with Barrin Simpson for the league lead in the category.

Highlights / Key Stats:
Titus Ryan had 188 yards return yards in Calgary's victory over Toronto on Friday. Ryan had four kickoff returns for 110 yards including a 40-yard return on the opening kickoff.
Ryan had 78 yards on eight punt returns. He also set the Stampeders up with excellent field position on their winning touchdown drive returning a Justin Medlock punt 21 yards to the Argonauts' 39 yard line.

Noel Prefontaine was 3 for 3 on field goals for the Eskimos including the game winning 49-yard kick with less than a minute to play in Emdonton's comeback victory over Hamilton. Prefontaine accounted for 13 of the Eskimos 31 points in the win.
Prefontaine was good on field goal tries from 35, 37 and 49 yards. His other point scored was a single on an 81-yard punt in the third quarter. He also had five punts for 243 net yards in the victory.
