Vancouver Giants News Release
The Vancouver Giants are returning home after their 1st extended road trip of the season. The Giants played 5 games in 6 nights against the WHL's Central Division teams and came away with a record of 2-2-0-1.
Tuesday, the Giants gave up 4 short-handed goals and wound up losing 5-1 to the WHL-leading Medicine Hat Tigers. Mitch Bartley scored a short-handed marker for Vancouver.
Wednesday, the Giants had a pair of 2-goal leads during regulation, but fell 5-4 in overtime against the Swift Current Broncos. Adam Courchaine snapped an 11-game scoring drought with a goal on a night where the Giants gave the Broncos 16 power plays.
Friday, the Giants bounced back with a solid 5-2 win over the Red Deer Rebels. The Giants were lead by the line of Tim Kraus (2g,1a), Ty Morris (1g,2a), and Gilbert Brule (3a). It was the 1st win over the Rebels in Giants history.
Saturday, Marek Schwarz made 27 saves for his 10th win of the season as the Giants defeated the Lethbridge Hurricanes 3-1.
