Everett, WA - The Everett Silvertips shut out the Vancouver Giants 5-0 in Game 5 of the opening round series on Sunday at Angel of the Winds Arena, eliminating them from playoff contention thanks to a 4-1 series win.
The Silvertips power play went 2-for-4 in Game 5 in a contest where they out-shot Vancouver 49-25.
Giants netminder Brett Mirwald finished the five-game series with 220 saves on 238 shots, for a .924 save percentage, and an average of 44 saves per game.
Everett got goals from Parker Berge, Ben Hemmerling, Cade Zaplitny, Dominik Rymon and Julius Miettinen.

GAME SUMMARY
Berge scored the only goal of the first period, firing a quick wrist shot from the point on the power play that changed direction on its way through to break the ice.
Just 1:10 into the second period, Everett doubled their lead on another power play goal, this time when Hemmerling put home his own rebound to make it 2-0.
With under four minutes remaining in the middle frame, Zaplitny tipped a point shot from Niko Tsakumis to extend the home side's lead to 3-0.
After 40 minutes, the Silvertips were out-shooting Vancouver 37-16.
Rymon and Miettinen each scored a goal early in the third period four minutes apart to make it 5-0, which stood up as the final score.
