Georgia Swarm Trades Johnny Powless to New England for Future Draft Picks

?(DULUTH, Ga.) - The 2017 NLL World Champion Georgia Swarm today announced that it has traded forward Johnny Powless to the New England Black Wolves in exchange for two future NLL Draft picks, a 2018 second-round selection and a 2020 third-round selection.

"We'd like to thank Johnny for his contributions to the Swarm organization over the past three years," Swarm head coach Ed Comeau said. "Johnny was a key contributor for us last year during our Champion's Cup run, and we wish him all the best in New England."

Powless, 24, had recorded 14 points (11G, 3A) and 14 loose balls in seven games of action in 2017-18 with the Swarm. In 2017, Powless played in 10 regular season games and recorded 50 points (23G, 27A) while finishing with a .324 SPCT. In the Swarm's four-game postseason sweep, Powless was active in three games and finished with 12 points (5G, 7A). He recorded 10 of those points against the Saskatchewan Rush in the Champion's Cup Finals. The Swarm acquired the left-handed forward in a midseason trade with the Vancouver Stealth back in 2015.

The Swarm returns home to host Ladies Night at The Hive against the Colorado Mammoth on Friday, March 2 presented by Atlanta's Sports X 1230 & 106.3 FM and 680 The Fan. Faceoff is set for 7:35 p.m. During Ladies Night, the Swarm has teamed up with Tara Fine Jewelry Company to host a Diamond Drop!
