Georgia Force News Release

SCRIMMAGE: The 60-play scrimmage began with Georgia's second-team defense on the field against the Kats first-team offense. The defense was able to produce a fair amount of pressure on the quarterback in the first drive, including a sack by rookie LB Doug Harding. Offseason acquisition QB Chris Greisen completed his first pass against live action to WR Chris Jackson for a 20-yard gain. Greisen capped the series with a touchdown pass to WR Derek Lee. In the defense's next series, DB Hamin Milligan intercepted Nashville QB Jeff Smoker. Georgia QB Ryan Vena and QB James MacPherson found success when they were on the field. Vena connected with WR Matt Thomas for a touchdown and MacPherson threw a 40-yard touchdown pass to WR Brett Holmes. DL Prentice Purnell was able to apply pressure to the quarterback on several occasions throughout the scrimmage. DB Chris Crocker and DB Will Fields each produced some hard hits that jarred Nashville receivers.

"Competing in the scrimmage provided us an opportunity to evaluate some of our strengths and weaknesses," stated head coach Doug Plank. "We did some things well today and we did some things not so well. I think it was a good performance, but we still have a long way to go before our first game."
