
Georgia Force suspend McCullough, sign Snell

ATLANTA, GA. â The Georgia Force, of the Arena Football League, announced today the WR/LB Andy McCullough has been suspended for conduct detrimental to the team. McCullough played in two games this season for the Force after signing as a free agent with the club from the Dallas Desperados. In other roster moves, the Force signed defensive specialist Kelly Snell to the 24-man active roster.
Snell (5-10, 185, Ferris State) is in his second season in the AFL having played for the Detroit Fury in 2003. Last season in 10 games, Snell recorded 106 receiving yards on 16 catches and three receiving touchdowns while adding four yards rushing on three carries. On defense last year, he tallied 21.5 tackles, two interceptions and five pass breakups. Snell began his Arena Football career with the Tennessee Valley Vipers of af2 in 2000. That season with the Vipers, he was named the af2's ADT Defensive Player of the Year and earned all-af2 first team honors. Snell set Vipers and af2 record for most interceptions in a season with 15. Proir to coming to Tennessee Valley, he played for the B.C. Lions of the CFL in 2000, where he helped the Lions win the Grey Cup Championship. As a senior at Ferris State in 1999, he was named first-team All-Midwest Intercollegiate Football Conference and second-team All-Region.
The Georgia Force return home this week to host Southern Division rival the New Orleans VooDoo on Sunday, February 22nd at 3:00 p.m. at the Arena at Gwinnett Center on NBC. The Force will be honoring the football legends of Georgia Tech at halftime of the game. A network-TV sport, the AFL celebrates its 2nd season on NBC in 2004.
