FLOWERY BRANCH, GA - The Georgia Force have announced the club has re-signed WR Troy Bergeron.

Bergeron, 6-2,190 pounds, was the AFL's Rookie of the Year in 2005 and helped lead the Force to ArenaBowl XIX. He was named to the AFL All-Rookie team after posting 105 receptions for 1,372 yards with 31 touchdowns in 16 games, in addition to recording 1,058 kickoff return yards on 57 attempts. Bergeron spent the entire 2006 AFL season preparing for the NFL, attending training camp with the Atlanta Falcons. With Bergeron rejoining the team, the combination of Derek Lee and Troy Bergeron ("Thunder and Lightning") will be on the field for the first time since their rookie season in 2005. The tandem hauled in 218 catches for 2,606 yards with 64 touchdowns, marking all-time high's in AFL history for a rookie receiving tandem.

"It is great to have the 2005 AFL Rookie of the Year rejoin our team for the 2007 season," stated team President Dick Sullivan. "Bergeron brings game changing ability and excitement every time his hands are on the football. With training camp starting on February 8, the acquisition of Bergeron is a tremendous boost to our football team."

"Troy Bergeron returns to the Force with NFL experience that will benefit him both on the field and in the locker room," said Director of Football Operations Jim Kubiak. "Troy is an impact player whose explosiveness and playmaking ability is well documented. He played at a very high level his rookie season and returns to Georgia with that same determination and hunger to help this team reach its goals. We are anticipating great things from Troy in 2007."

"I am excited about the opportunity to play for the Georgia Force this season," said Bergeron. "I am looking forward to joining the group of receivers the team has assembled for 2007. We will work hard to build on the recent success this team has experienced in hopes of making a third consecutive playoff appearance. It is a great feeling knowing that I will be playing for the Georgia Force once again."
