April 15, 2004 - Arena Football League (1987-2008) (AFL I)
Georgia Force News Release
ATLANTA, GA. â On Sunday, May 23rd, the Georgia Force will be extending the total entertainment of its home game versus the Austin Wranglers with the announcement of "Faith and Family Day". Following the Force's game in the Arena at Gwinnett Center at 3:00 p.m., fans will be treated to a free post-game concert on the field featuring Top 20 Christian contemporary and Sparrow Records recording artist ZOEgirl.
In addition to the concert, festivities will comprise of keynotes speakers including Force players, ZOEgirl and special guests giving their testimony of the Christian faith. Fans attending the game will be eligible to participate in an on-field question and answer session with keynote speakers and band. As with every Georgia Force game, fans will be allowed access to all the Force players, coaches and cheerleaders for a 30 minutes post-game autograph session immediately following the game.
"It has always been a priority for our organization to provide our fans with top notch entertainment to enhance the Georgia Force game experience," said Force General Manager Eddie Rockwell. "Arena Football is such a fan-friendly sport that by adding a concert with ZOEgirl, families can enjoy the whole day with the Force from the pre-game tailgating to the post-game concert."
"We are so excited to be performing at the Georgia Force game," said Alisa Girard of ZOEgirl. "We share a common goal in that we look forward to putting together a fun, entertaining and inspiring night for the whole family."
Force WR/LB Dialleo Burks, who will be one of the keynote speakers, added, "I am excited about having a day where we can all come together and express our belief in the Lord, and to just have a good time. Our team chaplain, Randy Kennedy, approached me about sharing my testimony concerning some of the things I have been through in my life. I know, not think, that it will help at least one person that comes to the game. As a professional athlete, I am a role model of sorts. I have been through a lot and the Lord has brought me a long way and I am willing to share that."
ZOEgirl made their way onto the music scene, scoring five Top 5 radio hits, and recently headlined their first tour, which included 29 dates, with special guests Superchic(k), Joy Williams and speaker Susie Shellenberger. ZOEgirl has also appeared before more than a million people, having toured with such artists as Newsboys, Plus One, Avalon, and Carman. The group has found a rare balance between guitar-driven pop and groove-laden R&B, while maintaining their signature sound of catchy hooks and powerful choruses. With collective sales of nearly 1 million units on their first two album releases, ZOEgirl and Life, it is clear that their message has struck a powerful chord. With their new release, Different Kind Of Free, ZOEgirl continues to fill a void within pop music while simultaneously bringing to light the issues facing a younger generation.
