Nashville SC News Release
Nashville SC (8W-7L-9D, 33 pts.) concludes a busy week on Saturday night with a match against Eastern Conference opponents Toronto FC (6W-12L-5D, 23 pts.) at GEODIS Park.
The Boys in Gold enter this match after drawing Portland Timbers 1-1 on the road on Wednesday night. Teal Bunbury scored his third goal in as many matches, marking the third time in his career that he's scored in three consecutive outings. Nashville had more shots on target (5-3) and more touches in the opponent's box (25-21) than the Timbers.
Now, Nashville SC will turn its attention to a formidable cross-conference foe in Toronto FC. The Reds have been bolstered in recent weeks by the arrival of Italian stars Lorenzo Insigne and Federico Bernardeschi.
With only seven home regular season matches remaining this season, don't miss your chance to Get N and see the Boys in Gold play in the largest soccer-specific stadium in the country. Tickets are available here.

Bunbelievable - Nashville SC has been Teal and Gold recently thanks to its forward's recent form. Bunbury, who was acquired in the offseason from the New England Revolution, scored for the third consecutive match on Wednesday in Portland. After corner kick chaos, Bunbury settled the ball and slotted it home past a couple of defenders and the Portland goalkeeper in the 20' minute.
Head Coach Gary Smith has been pleased with Bunbury's recent form since returning from injury in July.
"He's come back with some purpose and some focus and appetite, and I'm really pleased for him," Smith said. "It looked to me like a typical forward poaching goal. A lot of action from the set piece, and he was really just using his instincts to try and find an area that might prove fruitful, and it did."
Moore is N - With two starts under his belt, defender Shaq Moore is making his presence known in the Nashville SC squad after being acquired from LaLiga2 side CD Tenerife.
In his NSC debut last Saturday against Vancouver, Moore was accurate on 88% of his passes while taking two shots to go with his seven recoveries. He followed that up on Wednesday in Portland by creating one chance, winning four of his five tackles along with two interceptions and three recoveries.
Scouting TFC - Toronto FC has been transformed this summer by the arrivals of Insigne and Bernardeschi from Italy. In their debut two matches ago on July 23, each player earned an assist, while Bernardeschi opened his MLS account with a 31' minute goal in the 4-0 win over Charlotte FC.
Jesús Jiménez has led the way for the Reds in scoring, putting up eight goals in 23 matches. Jonathan Osorio is not far behind with six goals. Alex Bono has been the workhorse in goal as well, earning two clean sheets with a 1.65 goals allowed average.
The Boys in Gold own a 2W-1L-1D all-time record against Toronto FC, including their iconic 1-0 extra time win in the 2020 Audi MLS Cup Playoffs. Nashville also recently acquired winger Jacob Shaffelburg on loan from Toronto FC. The 22-year-old scored three goals for Toronto last season.
