Gens lose to Generals

Dayton Gems News Release


The Dayton Gems traveled to Perani Arena in Flint to take on the Generals. Both teams worked the defense to a scoreless tie for the 1st period. It took less than 6 minutes of the 2nd period for the Gems to take the lead. Dayton's Tim Hartung found the net with the help of Mike Vaskivuo and Cory Hamilton. With less than 2 minutes left in the period Flint tied the game. In the 3rd period the Gems held the Generals until the last minutes when they scored the go ahead goal then 37 seconds later Flint hit the empty net finishing the evening with the Generals 3 the Gems 1. The Gems record is now 20 - 27 - 3 -1.

Saturday, February 20th the Gems return to Hara Arena for a 7:30pm face off against the Ft Wayne Komets. Join the Gems and DATV for Dayton Spiritual Television Night - sponsored by DATV - Dayton Spiritual Television will be hosting the evening sponsored by DATV (Time Warner Local Cable Access Station). Faith groups are encouraged to attend and group seating is available. Dayton Spiritual TV will be there handing out information and signing people up for prize drawings.

That evening is also the Gems Kettering Community Night. The Gems welcome friends, families, businesses and local groups from Kettering to support their communities. Group seating is available. Kettering, Fairmont and Alter schools are invited to participate. Show your community pride!

This Wednesday the Gems travel to Bloomington for a 8:05pm face off against the Prairie Thunder. Fans can listen or watch the B2 network with Gems announcer Tom Michaels at the Gems website: www.daytongems.com.

It's only a week til WONE 980 takes its show on the road! February 26th we'll have Mark Schlemmer broadcasting live from 3pm to 7pm in the Hara Pub finishing up just in time for the 7:30pm face off when the Gems take on their old rivals the Fort Wayne Komets. Fans of Mark's...Be sure to purchase seating in the WONE Schlemmer section (Section 11 - 12) It's Frothy Friday, so it's a night with bargain $2 drafts. That evening is also Trading Card Night. The 1st 1000 fans will receive the 2nd of 4 sets of official Gems Trading Cards sponsored by Color Q of Miamisburg. Join the Gems for an evening no one will want to miss.

Saturday, February 27th, when the Gems take on the Quad City Mallards at Hara Arena at 730pM, is Trotwood Community Night. The Gems welcome friends, families, businesses and local groups from Trotwood to support their communities. Group seating is available. Trotwood Madison schools are encouraged to participate. This is a special city night sponsored by the Trotwood Parks and Recreation Department. A portion of all presale tickets purchased will benefit the Parks and Recreation Department.

All adult tickets only $10. Student and Children tickets $7. Groups are welcome and parking is free.

Monday evenings join the Gems at Fox and Hound in Beavercreek at 9pm as they become Dayton Icon judges .

This Thursday have lunch with the players at Brixx downtown. See you at noon!.
