Victoria Generals News Release
It was another great night of baseball for the Generals as the offense continued to find success winning tonight against the Cane Cutters. With the win tonight, the Generals now lead the season series 3-2 against the Cane Cutters but remain in third place in the TCL standings with a record of 10-8.
On the mound tonight for Victoria was UT-Arlington RHP Jack Hagan who earned the win tonight. Hagan went 5.1 innings throwing four strikeouts, allowing seven hits and no earned runs. Panola College RHP Sam Simmons finished the night for the Generals pitching two innings, throwing three strikeouts and allowing only one earned run.
Victoria's offense once again struck first in the game scoring one run in the first, third and fourth inning before Acadiana fired back scoring three runs of its own in the fifth inning. The Generals would then add six runs to the scoreboard in the bottom of the seventh inning, extending the lead to 9-3.
To start the evening for the Generals' offense was New Mexico 1B Reed Spenrath who had an RBI groundout scoring Eastern Oklahoma State 2B Drake Kerr. In the third inning, UT Arlington DH Tyce Armstrong would hit a RBI sacrifice fly, scoring Kerr.
