Generals Stunned After Deck Trade Falls Apart

Flint Generals News Release
FLINT, MI - It was only 2 days ago when the International Hockey League's Flint Generals and Port Huron Icehawks made a trade involving Generals' rookie defenseman Kyle Deck to the Icehawks. The Generals received forward Derek Patrosso and defenseman Paul Holder.
The only stipulation to the finalization of the trade was that Deck was to report to Port Huron for Tuesday night's game against the Muskegon Lumberjacks. However, the young rookie defenseman Deck refused to report, thus the trade between the Generals and Icehawks has been rescinded by the International Hockey League.
All players were to report back to their original clubs late Tuesday afternoon. Patrosso and Holder played for Port Huron Tuesday night in their game against Muskegon.
Unfortunately for the Generals, Kyle Deck has decided he wants to go to Europe to finish out the season. "This is a really bad break and a very frustrating situation", said Head Coach, Bobby Reynolds. "I tried to do what is right for the Flint Generals and for a young, promising player like Deck."
"Because of what has transpired, we lose two talented players that go back to the Icehawks and we lose Kyle Deck'" continued Reynolds. "All of this has happened quickly and very unexpectedly, but we have to get ready for our games this weekend."
The Generals travel to the Bloomington Prairie Thunder on Friday, January 30, 2009 at 8:05 p.m. and then on to the Muskegon Lumberjacks on Saturday, January 31, 2009 at 7:00 p.m. Catch all the action with the Voice of the Generals, Robert Roe with the "Countdown to Faceoff" Pre-game show airing 20 minutes before faceoff on WFNT-AM 1470, www.flintgenerals.com and on the B-2 Network.
